Ventrone was in the dugout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as recently as the club’s 6-2 win over Leicester City ahead of the international break (Guardian), which illustrates how suddenly he was taken away.
After falling ill, Ventrone was taken to the Fatebenefratelli hospital in Naples before tragically passing on Thursday (Daily Mail).
He has been credited with helping to drive a radical improvement in the players’ fitness and has even been nicknamed ‘the Marine’ for how hard he works the squad.
Reactions are now pouring in from the Tottenham players, with the likes of Kane, Doherty, Emerson, Heung-min Son and Richarlsion thanking the Italian for what he taught them during their time together.
