German publication Bild have now revealed that Harry Kane’s name is being ‘hotly debated’ among the Bayern Munich hierarchy ahead of next summer’s transfer window.
Kane’s current contract with Spurs runs out at the end of next season (Transfermarkt), with Football.London’s Alasdair Gold predicting last month that the North London club will surely begin negotiations with the striker over a new deal before too long.
However, in the meantime, multiple reports have suggested that Bayern Munich remain keen on snapping up the England captain.
90 min even claimed a few weeks ago that Tottenham are becoming ‘increasingly concerned’ about the Bundesliga giants’ interest in the player.
Bild have now revealed that Kane’s name is on Bayern’s wishlist for next summer and that the hierarchy at the Bavarian club are currently debating whether or not to pursue a deal for the Tottenham man.
The publication asserts that the Bundesliga giants are keen to add another number nine to their squad after losing Robert Lewandowski over the summer.
This report comes out at the same time as Bayern president Herbert Hainer’s claim that funds will not be an issue for the German club if the right market opportunity arises.
Hainer is quoted as telling Blickpunkt Sport (10/10/22 as relayed by Sport Witness): “It’s not primarily a question of money, it has to be the right player on the market. If the opportunity arises, we will take a closer look at it.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Bayern are clearly putting feelers out to Kane to perhaps encourage the striker not to sign a new contract.
However, whether or not the 29-year-old commits his future to Spurs, I do not think there is any chance of the striker moving to Germany as the 29-year-old evidently has his eyes on Alan Shearer’s Premier League goals record.
