Richarlison has pointed out that many did not believe he would get regular game time at Tottenham when he made the summer switch from Everton and added that he is delighted to have proven them wrong.
Spurs agreed a deal worth £60m including add-ons to snap up Richarlison during the summer (SkySports) and the forward has made a promising start to life at the club.
He already has four goal contributions to his name this season (Transfermarkt) and has featured, either as a starter or as a substitute, in every single game across all competitions until the Man Utd clash, which he missed due to a calf injury.
The 25-year-old told BT Sport earlier this month that it was a phone call with Antonio Conte that convinced him that joining Spurs would be the right move for him.
Richarlison has now spoken to Brazilian media about how the switch to a bigger club is helping him evolve as a player.
He told ESPN Brasil: “I think I took it one step further. I evolved in my career, I think that’s what I needed, to compete in big competitions, to be competing at the top of the table.
“So I came to a great club, I took a leap in my career and it was also very important for my evolution. I have a great team here, a great coach. So I have everything to evolve. And that’s what I’ve been doing in games.
“Many didn’t believe it, they thought I was going to come to be in Kane’s shadow and I’m there, little by little conquering my space, playing in practically every game. So I think the important thing is that I’m focused, I’m good and I’m playing.”

Richarlison has perhaps been not as effective over recent weeks as he was in his first few matches. That might be down to the fact that he is not ideally suited to playing on the right.
Having said that, I have no doubt that the Brazilian would prove to be a fantastic acquisition for Spurs, over the long run.
