Tottenham Hotspur could have Richarlison back from injury in time for next week’s Carabao Cup game with Nottingham Forest, according to reports from Brazil.
Richarlison picked up an injury in the game against his former side Everton back in October and was seen leaving the stadium on crutches (Football.London). The 25-year-old was in tears as it looked like his dream of leading the line for Brazil at the World Cup may be at risk.
Thankfully, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Initial assessments of the injury suggested it was ‘nothing serious’ (Bruno Andrade) and the player himself even tweeted to say he had good news that he would be fit for the World Cup.
The injury was believed to be set to keep Richarlison out of action for two weeks, but it appears that may end up being closer to three weeks in the end.
That is, according to reports from Goal Brasil, suggesting he will be back in the Spurs team for the midweek clash with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, November 9.
The report claims Richarlison “should return to training this week” and details his recovery process. Apparently, Richarlison had been having physiotherapy to treat the calf injury and is now expected to “start the transition process” to normal activity.
It is predicted that the process will take three to four days, meaning the Brazilian will miss Tottenham’s Premier League game against Liverpool on Sunday, but should be ready to return for the Carabao Cup third-round tie with newly-promoted Forest.
Spurs Web Opinion
Richarlison’s return to the team cannot come soon enough. With Dejan Kulusevski out of action and now Heung-min Son looking likely to spend some time on the sidelines, we desperately need Richarlison back to support Harry Kane. We look devoid of attacking ideas when Kane is isolated, so having Richarlison as an option will be a huge boost.
