Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is at risk of picking up a suspension if he gets another yellow card in the upcoming game against Liverpool on Sunday.
Kane has enjoyed a prolific start to the season so far, with 11 goals in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
With ten league goals, and Erling Haaland currently injured, Kane will be hoping to add to his tally at the weekend as he looks to catch the Norwegian in the race for the Golden Boot this season.
The 29-year-old is not normally known for having disciplinary issues, far from it in fact. Kane leads by example for both Spurs and for England, and as captain of the national team, he is considered something of a national treasure.
However, the striker has picked up four yellow cards already this season. Kane was booked in the games against Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Brighton, and Bournemouth, all for fairly innocuous incidents (PremierLeague).
The Premier League rules state that any player who picks up five yellow cards within the first 19 games will receive an automatic one-match ban. This is something both Harry Kane and Tottenham could do without as the squad faces something of an injury crisis in attacking areas currently.
Richarlison has been out for the past month but could be back in training before the World Cup (Evening Standard), while Heung-min Son has suffered a fractured eye socket and is due for surgery soon (The Telegraph).
There has been some good news though, with Dejan Kulusevski ready to play again this weekend (Fabrizio Romano). Nevertheless, with just two league games left before the World Cup, Kane will have to be on his best behaviour to avoid any suspension.
Spurs Web Opinion
Harry Kane is a very intelligent player and will know full well that he has to be careful now. All of his yellow cards so far have been for such small issues that it should be fairly easy for him to avoid any problems in the Liverpool game.
