Emerson Royal has taken to social media to react to being omitted from Brazil’s squad for the World Cup.
Tite named Brazil’s 26-man World Cup squad on Monday, with Tottenham forward Richarlison making it despite being out with a calf injury since the start of last month.
However, the 25-year-old is expected to return to full fitness before the start of the World Cup as he is now back training with his Tottenham teammates this week (Football.London).
Moura and Emerson both failed to make the squad, which does not come as a major surprise, given that neither player was in the most recent Selecao squad, with the former PSG man not having featured for his country for several years.
Emerson would have had a little more hope of making the squad than Moura, with the right-back having been capped for his country seven times since 2019.
However, the 23-year-old insisted that he will be cheering on his country and rooting for Richarlison to do well in Qatar. Here’s how the Spurs star reacted on Instagram to being omitted from the squad:

It says a lot that Tite has chosen to name 39-year-old Daniel Alves in the squad ahead of Emerson. However, that could have been simply down to the Brazil boss valuing the former Barcelona man’s leadership and his influence in the dressing room.
