Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta is confident that Tottenham target Milan Skriniar will put pen to paper on a new contract at the San Siro.
Tottenham are thought to be on the lookout for reinforcements in central defence in January, with 90 min reporting this week that Skriniar, whose contract runs out next summer, is one of the names on the club’s radar.
The report added that Spurs and several of the top clubs in the Premier League are in contact with the Slovak’s entourage as Inter’s attempts to extend the defender’s deal have proven to be unsuccessful so far.
However, it was explained that talks between the 27-year-old and the Nerazzurri hierarchy had not yet collapsed and Inter were determined to keep the player beyond the end of the current season.
Fabrizio Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the Serie A club have not only offered Skriniar a new deal but are also willing to make him captain.
According to the journalist, Marotta said about the defender’s future: “I’m optimistic to get Milan Skriniar’s contract renewal done and sealed, we are confident.”

Spurs Web Opinion
If Inter were concerned that Skriniar would not sign a new deal, they would have likely cashed in on him during the summer transfer window when PSG showed interest. The fact that they held on to him suggests that they expect the 27-year-old to commit his future to the club.
