Tottenham need four new additions in January – a centre-back, a right wing-back, an attacking midfielder and a winger.
Spurs were extremely busy during the summer transfer window, with seven new players arriving through the door (including Destiny Udogie).
Reports over recent months indicate that Tottenham are expected to be busy once again in January, with Antonio Conte wanting as many as three additions – a right wing-back, a centre-back and a winger (Evening Standard).
Sporting Lisbon’s Pedro Porro (CaughtOffside) and Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries (TuttoSport) are the two right-back options who have most heavily been linked with Spurs while Udinese’s Rodrigo Becau (Tutto Udinese), Inter Milan’s Stefan de Vrij (Football Insider) are thought to be two of the centre-back options on Conte’s wishlist.
As far as a winger is concerned, the likes of Marucs Thuram (Ignazio Genuardi) and Anthony Gordon (GiveMeSport) have been mooted as targets over recent weeks.
In addition, Tottenham have also been linked with several attacking midfielders, including Weston McKennie (Ben Jacobs), Ruslan Malinovskyi (CalcioMercato) and Mohammed Kudus (The Sun) while two central midfielders in Alexis Mac Allister (L’Interista) and Sofyan Amrabat (Foot Mercato) have been linked on the back of their displays at the World Cup.
Among these names, Malniovsklyi could be the best fit for Spurs as not only can he operate as a number eight in a 3-5-2 but he can also cover for Kulusevski on the right in a 3-4-3, thus solving two issues at once.
With that in mind, here is what we at Spurs Web feel a perfect January transfer window would look like for Tottenham:
Outgoings: Emerson Royal, Japhet Tanganga, Bryan Gil (loan), Pape Matar Sarr (loan)
Incomings: Pedro Porro, Stefan de Vrij, Ruslan Malinovskyi
