Speaking to the Football.London after Tottenham Hotspur’s win over Crystal Palace, Harry Kane has commented on the possibility of him breaking the club’s all-time goalscoring record by scoring a hat-trick against Arsenal in the North London derby.
Tottenham bounced back from a disappointing New Year’s day defeat to Aston Villa with a comprehensive victory over Crystal Palace last night. Harry Kane scored two quick-fire goals in the second half as Spurs took home all three points with a 4-0 win at Selhurst Park.

The goals continue Kane’s impressive start to the campaign, taking his tally to 15 Premier League goals in 18 appearances (Transfermarkt). It’s the kind of form that would normally see Kane storming to the Golden Boot award, were it not for Erling Haaland’s even more deadly goalscoring feats.
On a personal level, Kane is closing in on a massive milestone for Tottenham Hotspur. With 264 goals for the club, Kane is now just two away from drawing level with Jimmy Greaves as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer (Goal).
It has not gone unnoticed that a hattrick against arch-rivals Arsenal in the next league game would see Kane break the record, and the striker has shared his thoughts on the matter.
He said: “It would be a nice game to do it in, for sure, but who knows. I try not to think about them [records] too much. I try to just go out there, help my team and afterwards if I score a couple you guys can let me know what I’m doing.
“Of course, it’s a really important game. Arsenal are top of the league and playing really well so we’ll be ready for that. We’ve got to try to pick up some results ourselves and get some good momentum. We obviously have FA Cup this weekend and then prepare for Arsenal.”

It really would be special for Kane to break that record against the Gunners, but really, it doesn’t matter when it happens because we are definitely going to see him take the top spot at some point this season. The main thing is we beat Arsenal, and any Kane record would just be a bonus.
