Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have agreed on personal terms with Pedro Porro ahead of the right-back’s potential switch to North London.
Over the last couple of days, multiple publications have reported that Spurs are locked in negotiations with Sporting Lisbon for Porro, with AS claiming recently that the Premier League club are unwilling to pay the player’s £40m release clause.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also reported on the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the Spaniard on Friday, with the Italian explaining that Antonio Conte’s men will find a deal difficult to pull off in January since Sporting were insisting that the release clause be met.
Schira has now provided an update on the Porro story, with the journalist also taking to social media to confirm that the Portuguese clubs are not willing to budge on the £40m demand.
However, he revealed that Tottenham have managed to reach an agreement in principle with the right-back over a contract that runs until 2027.

Agreeing on personal terms with Porro was never going to be the hard part of this transfer. The big question is whether Spurs would be prepared to meet the £40m release clause.
While I can understand why the North Londoners are exploring if they can get the player for a lower fee, there is the danger of another club swooping in and paying the right-back’s release clause over the coming days and weeks, which is why I am hoping that the deal is agreed as soon as possible.
