Journalist Rudy Galetti has revealed that Tottenham are eyeing Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris next summer.

Lloris has made several unforced errors leading to goals this season, the latest of which came in Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat in the North London derby on Sunday.

The Daily Mail reported on the back of the Frenchman’s error against Arsenal that Spurs are now expected to accelerate a move for a new number one rather than allowing their captain to see out his current contract.

The report stated that Spurs were looking for a goalkeeper who is good with the ball at his feet and someone who can make good decisions under pressure, with Jordan Pickford, David Raya and Robert Sanchez said to be among the names on the club’s radar.

Galetti has now put forward another name in the form of Bounou, who was one of the standout goalkeepers on show at the World Cup, helping Morroco reach the final four of the competition.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Tottenham are exploring different options in all the roles for January and especially for the summer, starting with the goalkeeper.

“We know that they opened talks with Lloris for his contract. But it cannot be excluded that Spurs can try for Jordan Pickford or Yassine Bounou.”

Reports over recent months have indicated that the 31-year-old, who is also known as ‘Bono’, is on David Moyes’ shortlist to replace Lucas Fabianski at West Ham (La Razon).

Spurs Web Opinion

I have a feeling that Spurs will look for a goalkeeper within the Premier League to replace Lloris as they would want someone who is accustomed to the physicality and pace of English football.

There are certainly some very good options at lower to midtable clubs, out of which Pickford seems to be the outstanding candidate, given Everton’s struggles and his contract situation.
