The vision of the club in the last two January transfer windows has clearly been to improve the squad in the weakest positions based on depth and quality.

Tottenham searched the market for an attacker as the contract of Lucas Moura is running out, and a right wing-back which is an area which has been particularly lacking in quality this season.

The first name through the door was attacker Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal on a loan with an option to buy. The 26-year-old is versatile and has the ability to play through the middle or from the left-hand side.

The Dutchman will aim to add competition and fight for a starting place and make effective substitute appearances. The majority of Danjuma’s chances will come in the busy fixture schedule and the cup fixtures which are to come. He will aim to push for a place over the inconsistent Heung-Min Son this season, otherwise, injuries will be his best chance.

Spurs’ deadline day completion of Pedro Porro has caught the eye of the fans though. The right-wing back impressed in both Champions League games the club played against Sporting Lisbon in the group stages this season.

Porro undoubtedly has the quality to walk into the starting eleven, particularly after the departures of Matt Doherty and Djed Spence.

So how will Danjuma and Pedro Porro affect Tottenham’s side? This is how Antonio Conte might integrate the two latest additions:

Starting XI (Formation: 5-2-3): Hugo Lloris, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, Clement Lenglet, Ivan Perišić, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane, Danjuma.

Danjuma’s place in this side seems the most likely on the left-hand side rather than through the middle. It feels as if Richarlison is second fiddle to Harry Kane and that Danjuma will be competing with Son. The South Korean is regularly substituted by Conte which could see Danjuma make an impression and potentially start more games.

Pedro Porro seems an inevitable starter based on form and quality. Antonio Conte likes his wingbacks to provide goals and assists and at the minute that is only coming on the left-hand side from Ivan Perišić. We could see Porro as early as the Man City game this Sunday.

The January transfer window has been a successful one once again for Tottenham and minor improvements to the squad could make a substantial impact in the push for a trophy and another top-four finish.
