Journalist Ben Jacobs has been discussing the rumours linking Harry Kane with a move to Bayern Munich, and has told TeamTalk that the speculation is exaggerated and he expects Kane to stay in the Premier League even if he does move on.
Kane recently broke Jimmy Greaves’ record to become Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer with 267 goals (GOAL), further establishing his status as a club legend.
How much longer Kane will stay in North London has been the topic of debate for some time now, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season (Transfermarkt).
In a recent appearance on the House of Champions YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano insisted Kane is keen to stay at Spurs and win trophies with his boyhood club. However, reports have linked the 29-year-old with a move to either Manchester United or Bayern Munich of late (Sky Sports).
On the topic of these links, Jacobs was sceptical about the idea of Kane leaving the English game and suggested the player would prefer to stay in the Premier League.
He said: “First of all, these links with Bayern Munich are exaggerated. They don’t seriously think that they can get Harry Kane if he was to leave Tottenham. It’s more likely as I understand it, that he would stay in the Premier League.
“And that’s when you start mentioning clubs like Manchester United or Chelsea. And we have to be clear here that it is premature to be speaking about anything Kane transfer-wise, because he will sit down with Tottenham as the season progresses.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I cannot see Kane wanting to leave the Premier League, given how close he is to breaking Alan Shearer’s record now.
But, at the same time, I can’t see him wanting to turn out for another team in this division and have to play against Spurs. For me, Kane is staying at Tottenham until the day he retires.
