90 min have revealed that Tottenham held conversations with Bayer Leverkusen in January regarding a move for centre-back Jonathan Tah.

The report states plains that Tah’s name was mentioned when representatives from the Lilywhites met with the Leverkusen hierarchy last month.

However, it is explained that the North London club were prioritising a move for the German international’s centre-back partner Piero Hincapie.

It is revealed that Nottingham Forest also tried to snap up Tah during last month’s transfer window but failed to lure him to the City Ground.

90 min state that the 26-year-old is attracting plenty of interest from the Premier League ahead of the summer since he will have just two years left on his contract at Bay Arena in June.

The report names Liverpool and Newcastle United among the clubs interested in the centre-back, asserting that both the Reds and Magpies have held talks with Leverkusen over a potential transfer.

Just because Spurs might have explored a deal for Tah does not mean the club are likely to reignite their interest in the German during the summer.

The January window is more about market opportunities and Paratici might have simply tested the waters for the 26-year-old while holding talks with Leverkusen over Hincapie.
