Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara has told talkSPORT (14 February, 11.30 pm) that he is bored of Antonio Conte’s style of football and would rather see Marcelo Bielsa take over at Spurs.

Conte arrived at Tottenham in November 2021 and managed to lead Spurs from mid-table to a top-four finish by the end of the season, securing Champions League football for the North London side.

This season has been in complete contrast, with Spurs struggling to recapture the exciting, attacking football they played last year and failing to put together a consistent run of results. Tottenham are now fifth in the Premier League but have some work to do in order to catch the top four.

Spurs took on AC Milan last night in the first leg of their Champions League second-round tie, but were unable to fight back from Milan’s early goal. They now trail 1-0 overall, going into the second leg at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium next month.

Frustratingly, Spurs failed to test Milan on the night, restricted to long-range efforts and set-piece opportunities. It appears the display in Italy last night was the final straw for O’Hara, who wants to see someone else in charge of Tottenham now.

When the idea of former Leeds boss Bielsa being installed as Tottenham’s manager was floated, O’Hara said: “I would (take Bielsa). I would enjoy the football. It would be great to watch. At least I would enjoy watching Tottenham. Bielsa is actually not a bad shout.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Something has gone horribly wrong, with Spurs going from being one of the most exciting and prolific teams last season, to now looking short of ideas in attacking areas.

However, I’m not sure Bielsa is the answer to the problem, as his style of play got found out very quickly at Leeds.
