According to a report in Tuttosport (17/02/23 as relayed on Sport Italia), Inter Milan continue to have an eye on Emerson Royal ahead of the summer transfer window.
Before the January transfer window, most Spurs fans would have predicted that Emerson would be the one to leave out of the club’s three right wing-backs if the Lilywhites strengthened in that position.

However, Antonio Conte’s men chose to offload both Djed Spence (on loan) and Matt Doherty instead to make way for Pedro Porro, with Emerson remaining at the club.
It was suggested last month that Inter Milan was the Brazilian’s most likely destination, with the Nerazzurri alleged to have identified him as the man to replace Denzel Dumfries if the Dutchman departed (Inter Live).
Tuttosport have now stated that the Tottenham star is still one of the names on the Serie A club’s wishlist to replace Dumfries, with the former PSV Eindhoven man expected to depart in the summer.
However, the report explains that Emerson is no longer Inter’s top target, with Club Brugge right-back Tajon Buchanan now said to be on the top of Simone Inzaghi’s wishlist.

Emerson has been in decent form over the last few weeks and has repaid some of the faith that Conte and the coaching staff have shown in him.
While I still have my doubts regarding his fit for the right-wing-back role, there is no doubt that he is more than a decent right-back (in a back four).
