Ian Wright believes that Harry Kane is exactly the kind of number nine that Manchester United need, arguing that the Tottenham man would make the Red Devils title contenders next season.
Most Spurs fans would understandably be bored with all the speculation over Kane’s future over recent months but the paper talk regarding the striker only seems to be intensifying as we get closer to the summer transfer window.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been named as the 29-year-old’s two most likely destinations, with The Telegraph revealing earlier this week that the Spurs star is on Erik Ten Hag’s two-man striker shortlist for the summer, along with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Tottenham legend Chris Waddle suggested earlier this week that Kane would be a ‘strange’ signing for United since pressing from the front is not the striker’s biggest strength, which is something Ten Hag wants his forwards to do (The Sun).
However, Wright disagreed with Waddle’s assessment, insisting that the England captain would be the ‘perfect’ person to take over Wout Weghorst’s role at Old Trafford.
The former Arsenal striker said on The Kelly & Wrighty Show: “[Manchester United] are a Harry Kane away from really kicking on [next season].
“When you look at Wout Weghorst… Yes I’ve been surprised with him coming off the No 9 [role] to No 10 and making things happen… But if that’s the plan then Harry Kane is the perfect person to do that.
“Marcus Rashford in that form, Alejandro Garnacho with his pace…Then, if Antony kicks on… Everything they’ve already got going forward with a proper No 9, Man United will be back!
“You just feel Man United are not a million miles away [from winning Premier League titles] again.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Every single manager in the world would be happy to tweak their style of play if they can have a player of Harry Kane’s quality. So, there is no doubt that Erik Ten Hag would want him.
However, Tottenham will be confident that they can tie the striker down to a new contract as long as they finish in the top four again.
