Haber Global have now claimed that Fenerbahce are set to meet with Tottenham Hotspur to discuss a potential fee to sign Lucas Moura before the end of the season.
Moura’s current contract at Spurs runs out in June (Transfermarkt), but Turkish publication Sabah (via SportWitness) claimed on Tuesday that Fenerbahce were plotting a move to sign the winger ‘immediately’.
The report suggested that the North London club would be willing to let the winger leave and that the Turkish side had offered the Brazilian a three-year contract worth around £43,000 a week.
Speaking in a Q&A for Football.London on Wednesday, Alasdair Gold played down the chances of Moura leaving before the end of the season, pointing out that Antonio Conte would want sufficient depth in his frontline.
However, Haber Global have now become the latest publication to suggest that an imminent move to Fenerbahce could be on the cards for the former Paris Saint-Germain star.
The publication claims that representatives from the Istanbul club will meet with Spurs to negotiate a deal for Moura as Jorge Jesus is keen to add the 30-year-old to his squad.
It is alleged that Fenerbahce could offer a fee of around €2m (£1.7m) to convince Tottenham to release the winger before the end of his contract.
Spurs Web Opinion
With Spurs still involved in three competitions, I do not think Conte will want to risk letting Moura leave, thus potentially leaving himself short of options in case of some injuries.
Besides, I suspect that the Brazilian would prefer to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season so that he has more options to choose from.
