Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the race for rumoured Tottenham target Evan Ndicka remains open, with the centre-back yet to decide on his next destination.

Ndicka has developed into one of the most consistent central defenders in the Bundesliga over the last couple of years and with his current contract at Eintracht Frankfurt running out in June, the speculation over his future continues to intensify as we get closer to the summer.

With reports over recent weeks indicating that Tottenham are expected to sign a left-sided centre-back in the summer (Football.London), Ndicka’s name is understandably thought to be on the North London club’s radar.

90 min were the latest publication to report on Spurs’ interest in the 23-year-old, stating on Wednesday that the Frenchman is an option that ‘appeals hugely’ to Antonio Conte’s side.

The report added that the Lilywhites could face competition from Barcelona for the Frankfurt star, who was said to be open to a move to Camp Nou.

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the Catalan giants have a long way to go to finalise a deal for Ndicka, explaining that many clubs continue to follow the defender.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is now quite clear that Josko Gvardiol is out of Tottenham’s reach as the North London club are not going to pay £90m-£100m to sign the Croat.

I am also not optimistic about our pursuit of Alessandro Bastoni as I expect the Italian to sign a new contract with Inter within in the next few weeks or months.

I doubt if Tottenham would see much value in paying around £50m for Piero Hincpaie after his contract extension, which means that Paratici and co will likely be pulling out all stops to snap up Ndicka.
