The Sun have revealed that Manchester United are confident they will land Harry Kane in the summer if Tottenham fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Plenty of reports over recent weeks have talked up the possibility of Kane moving to Old Trafford in the summer, with the latest of those coming from Football Insider a couple of days ago.

The publication claimed that amidst United’s desire to sign the England captain, Spurs had put a price tag of over £100m on his head, with Daniel Levy not willing to budge from the asking price.
However, The Sun have now reported that the Red Devils reckon Spurs missing out on a Champions League place will see them lower their £100m asking price.
The report asserts that Erik Ten Hag’s men have reached out to Kane’s camp through a third party and have been encouraged by the response.
With Man City no longer in the running for the 29-year-old, it is said that United believe that they will land the Spurs star if the Lilywhites fail to finish in the top four.

There are no guarantees that United are going to compete for the league title or the Champions League in the next couple of years, which is why I do not think it is a no-brainer for Kane to push for a switch to Old Trafford.
However, having said that, should Spurs fail to finish in the top four, the 29-year-old will likely be tempted to jump ship to United, given that Erik Ten Hag’s project certainly seems to have a lot more promise compared to the directionless one at Tottenham.
