The Guardian have revealed that the Tottenham hierarchy have been impressed by the job that Thomas Frank has done on a fairly limited budget since taking over at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Unlike some other clubs who come up from the Championship, Brentford have not been afflicted by second-season syndrome and have proven that they have staying power in the Premier League.
In fact, the Bees would be just four points below Spurs in the Premier League table if they are to win their game in hand and thus have to be seen as legitimate contenders for European qualification.
That is perhaps why some outlets have reported over the last week that Frank is one of the names on Tottenham’s shortlist to replace Antonio Conte at the end of the season (The Athletic).
The Guardian have now explained that the fact Frank has achieved what he has at Brentford on such a low budget is one of the reasons why many at Spurs are impressed with Dane’s work.
It is said that having Premier League experience also counts in his favour while it is explained that the Lilywhites also believe that Frank could bring David Raya with him to Hotspur Way.
Spurs Web Opinion
I can see why Frank is being considered by Tottenham but I am personally sceptical of whether the 49-year-old’s style of play would translate to a bigger club where there is more pressure to pick up wins consistently.
If we are looking within the Premier League for Conte’s replacement, I believe we should not look any further than Roberto De Zerbi, who seemed destined to reach the very top over the next few years.
