The Tottenham Hotspur managerial rumour mill took another twist this week following the developments in Germany when Bayern Munich decided to dismiss Julian Nagelsmann.
Nagelsmann was replaced at the Allianz Arena by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, who had also been heavily linked as a leading candidate for the likely vacancy in north London until he signed on the dotted line back in his homeland (Sky Sports).
The 35-year-old’s sudden availability is said to have caused Tottenham to sit up and take notice with Daniel Levy interested in holding discussions with Nagelsmann over the possibility of succeeding Antonio Conte as the club’s next head coach, according to Sky Sports.
The report claims that Nagelsmann is said to be open to holding talks with the club but may want a short period of reflection following his sudden Bayern exit before taking up his next managerial role.
Naglesmann is reported to have kept a keen interest in Tottenham over the past few years, having been an admirer of the Premier League side during Mauricio Pochettino’s time in charge and was also on Levy’s shortlist following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho until he ended up taking the Bayern job.

If Tottenham are serious about securing the services of Nagelsmann they need to move quickly or risk the potential of a European giant such as Real Madrid turning his head.
Nagelsmann would be an ideal fit if Levy has the appetite and patience to begin a rebuild of the Spurs squad which has been grossly overdue since the days of Pochettino, who is also a contender for the job. One thing is for sure, can the club cannot risk their top four hopes on an interim manager from within the club.
