Luis Enrique, who has been linked with the Tottenham hot seat over the last few weeks, has admitted that he is a fan of the Premier League and would like to coach in England.
It was first reported by The Athletic a few weeks ago that Fabio Paratici, who has been trusted with coming up with a short list of managers to replace Antonio Conte, might favour hiring Enrique, with the Spurs managing director of football alleged to be a big fan of the Spanish coach.
This was also subsequently backed up by The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick, who claimed that the former Barcelona boss is Paratici’s number one priority.

However, the situation has seemingly evolved since Bayern Munich’s sacking of Julian Nagelsmann last week, with reports over the last few days indicating that the German has now shot up to the top of Spurs’ wishlist (Football Insider).
Enrique has now opened up on his desire to manager in England but insisted that he would only be open to a big job.
The 52-year-old told Cadena SER: “I follow English football a lot, more than Spanish.
“I am clearly influenced because I would like to work there.
“I am not going to go to any team. I would like to go to someone who has clear options to do important things and that reduces the equation to a very small number.
“In addition, there are many coaches worldwide with a high level who want to train there.
“I’m under no illusions, but you never know.”

It is clear that Paratici was the one pushing Enrique’s case at Spurs.
With the Spurs managing director’s future at the club now looking in major doubt, one would not expect the Spaniard to be near the top of the North London club’s wishlist.
