Rumoured Tottenham managerial target, Thomas Frank, has played down the speculation over his future and insisted that he is happy at Brentford.

Frank has been a major hit since taking over at the West London club back in 2018, with the Dane guiding the Bees to Premier League promotion and helping to establish them in the top flight.

Some outlets have reported over the last couple of weeks that Frank is one of the names on Tottenham’s shortlist to replace Antonio Conte at the end of the season (The Athletic).

The Guardian revealed two weeks ago that the fact the 49-year-old has achieved what he has at Brentford on such a low budget is one of the reasons why many at Spurs are impressed with his work.

The Daily Record even claimed on March 22 that the Danish coach had emerged as the top contender to take over from Conte this summer.

Frank has now said that while he is flattered to see his name being linked with some clubs, he remains happy at the Gtech Community Stadium.

When asked about the speculation over his future, he told The Sun: “There have been a lot of rumours about me over the last year.

“I don’t ever get used to it, but I would say in general it is always flattering that there are rumours out there.

“I have said before that I am very, very pleased working for Brentford. Happy here.

“What happens in the future, you never know. What happens in 10 years? Will I stay here forever? Probably not.

“Even Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, they ended their eras or their jobs at a certain stage. I don’t know, but I’m very happy right now.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Frank is likely to be near the top of Tottenham’s wishlist to replace Conte.

However, if Spurs were to contact the Dane, one would certainly expect him to talk to the North London club hierarchy despite what he says about being happy at Brentford.
