A new report from The Athletic claims staff at Manchester United have been feeding manager Erik ten Hag information about Harry Kane in the hopes they can push for the signing of the Tottenham Hotspur star this summer.
Kane has been in prolific form for Tottenham so far this season, with 24 goals in all competitions already (Transfermarkt).
It has been a record-breaking year for the 29-year-old, too. Not only did Kane become Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer recently (GOAL), but he also surpassed Wayne Rooney as England’s greatest-ever goalscorer during the last international break.
Despite his status as a club legend in North London, there are doubts over Kane’s future at Spurs and Manchester United have been heavily linked with the striker for a while now (Telegraph).
The Red Devils are also thought to be keen on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as they look to reshape their attacking line (The Football Terrace). If it was up to certain staff at Old Trafford however, it seems Kane would be the option most worth pursuing.
By the sounds of it, everyone at the club is in agreement that signing Kane should be the top priority this summer. Apparently, staff at Manchester United have been giving ten Hag reports on Kane’s character and professionalism.
Sources suggest the Spurs star would be a popular signing at the club, but the report does state that it would cost at least £100 million to force Tottenham’s hand and make a deal happen.
Spurs Web Opinion
It’s no surprise that people at Manchester United are pushing for the signing of Harry Kane.
He would be a perfect addition to the squad there, as he would any squad, but we just have to hope that we can convince him to remain at Tottenham and be part of the new project here.
