Alasdair Gold has said that he would be shocked if Tottenham do not consider a move for Graham Potter after his sacking by Chelsea.
Since Potter’s departure from Stamford Bridge, there have been some suggestions that Spurs might make a move for the 47-year-old, with the English coach thought to have been of interest to the North London club during his time at Brighton (Football.London).

It was reported by talkSPORT last week that Spurs made a serious effort to snap up the 47-year-old before they hired Nuno Espirito Santo and that Daniel Levy remains a fan of his despite his struggles in West London.
Football Insider contradicted that claim on April 8, suggesting Potter ‘didn’t want to work with Levy’ back in 2021, and the Spurs chairman is thus not likely to favour a move for the former Seagulls boss.
However, Gold believes that Tottenham will hold conversations about Potter and also added that Feyenoord boss Arne Slot remains a ‘strong candidate’ for the job.
The journalist said in a Q&A on Football.London: “I would be shocked if Graham Potter doesn’t come into the conversation again as he did in 2021, even after his tough time at Chelsea, while Arne Slot will be a strong candidate despite some claims in the Netherlands that he might be reluctant at this point to take his daughter out of secondary school to come to the UK.”

While the Tottenham board would likely have conversations about Potter, there is little to no chance that he would be anywhere near the top of the club’s wishlist.
The 47-year-old seemingly struggled to cope with the pressure of the Chelsea job, which should put him out of the running for any of the other top jobs for the time being.
