TYC Sports have claimed that Aston Villa could make a move for Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso this summer.

Lo Celso has never quite managed to live up to his potential at Tottenham since his big-money switch from Real Betis back in 2019.

The Argentine quite clearly was not fancied by Antonio Conte, which is why he has now spent two successive loan spells at Villarreal, but the La Liga club do not have the option to make the deal permanent.

With Conte no longer in charge at Spurs, it remains to be seen whether the midfielder has a future at the club but TyC Sports have now claimed that there is a ‘high chance’ that the player will be sold by the North London side this summer.

The report asserts Villa have now shown interest in snapping up Lo Celso when the transfer window opens this summer.

The publication asserts that the Villans have been following the 27-year-old for a ‘long time’ and after conducting some ‘informal polls’ they have ‘assured’ to make an offer for the Spurs man.

Lo Celso worked with Unai Emery at Villarreal and so it would not be surprising if the Villa boss wanted to reunite with the midfielder.

I suspect that whoever takes over as Tottenham’s next head coach will want to take a closer look at the likes of Lo Celso and Ndombele in pre-season before making a decision on their futures.
