Tottenham Hotspur are Tottenham Hotspur. That game is almost too hard to put into words. 3-0 down within 15 minutes, then back to 3-3, only to lose it in the 94th minute.

Let’s take a look at how the individual players got on:

Fraser Forster – 6 – Really impressed with his kicking and playing out from the back today. The goals were not his fault, but there is only so high he can be rated with four conceded.

Pedro Porro – 5 – The good and the bad. He was completely missing defensively for the first 15 minutes, but went on to make himself a real attacking threat in the final 60 minutes of the match.

Cristian Romero – 4 – So disappointed with him. It feels, at times, as though he checks out mentally because he is frustrated at the performances of his teammates. That penalty was just braindead and it looked as though he was barely trying. In the second half, he was immense once more.

Eric Dier – 2 – Just a nightmare again today. Shades of Newcastle. Away from home, Dier seems to crumble under the pressure. His passing out from the back was woeful this evening and his man-marking was even worse.

Ben Davies – 4 – His first game back so you have to give him the benefit of the doubt to an extent. Definitely wasn’t the worst performer but the first 15 minutes hardly filled you with confidence.

Ivan Perisic – 5 – Similar to Porro on the other side, and similar to Perisic’s season all year long, he was absent defensively but a threat going forward. His legs can’t seem to handle multiple games of running the channel in a week. Superb assist for Kane’s goal though.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 5 – Just got completely overrun in the middle of the park in the first half. Once Spurs got the game under control, he dictated the pace very nicely in the second 45.

Oliver Skipp – 7.5 – Once again the shining light in a pretty shocking defensive unit. Skipp always puts himself about, no matter the score. He set up the Kane goal with a superb through ball and covered so much defensive ground today.

Dejan Kulusevski – 5 – Not his best match once again today. His big moment came when he forced a save from Alisson, but he should have really squared it to Kane for a second goal.

Harry Kane – 7 – Similar to the Man United game, Kane hauled Spurs back into the match at times. He first scored a goal, then dropped deep and started to pull the strings again. A class above what Spurs have been operating at of late.

Heung-min Son – 7 – One of his better performances of the season. Not only did Sonny score an important goal in the game, but he also hit the woodwork a couple of times and looked a real danger on the break. He is finally back playing the role he enjoys most.

Substitutes: 

Pape Matar Sarr – 5 – Came on at an important moment and looked really composed as Spurs changed system and went on the front foot.

Richarlison – 7 – What more can you ask of him? That should have been HIS moment at Anfield.

Lucas Moura – N/A – Came on to add to the attack, but ended up costing Spurs in defence with his back pass. Not the send-off he wanted as the season comes to a close.

Arnaut Danjuma – N/A
