Ryan Mason has named his Tottenham Hotspur side which will take to the field in this afternoon’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

Mason is still seeking his first win since being handed the temporary managerial responsibility in north London having drawn against Manchester United and suffered a disappointing 4-3 defeat at Liverpool last time out.

Tottenham are aiming to avoid recording their fifth top-flight match without a win for the first time since October to November 2019 in what was Mauricio Pochettino’s final five league games in charge.

The defence still continues to be a problem for Tottenham with early goals suffered against Newcastle, Manchester United and Liverpool.  A staggering 57 league goals have been conceded  this season, including 15 in their last four games, which is their most in a single campaign since they let in 61 in 2007-08

Mason was asked at yesterday’s press conference about the importance of not losing the match which would see them mathematically ruled out of a Champions League finish if Manchester United also draw.

He told Football.London: “It’s important we win the game. The only thing we can do is take care ourselves and the league table will take care of itself at the end of the season because it doesn’t lie.

“We’ve had a very up and down season & many things have happened. It’s no secret we’re disappointed with how it’s gone but it’s not over yet, we’ve still got a lot to fight for and we all know that.”

The big news is Emerson Royal returns to the starting eleven following injury, while Eric Dier drops to the bench.
