According to The Sun, Brentford have put a £35m price tag on Tottenham target, David Raya this summer.
Among all the names that have been mooted as potential replacements for Hugo Lloris, Raya’s name has appeared often in various outlets over recent months.
The latest such report came from 90 min, who claimed last week that the Spaniard is one of four names on Tottenham’s wishlist alongside Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili, Porto’s Diogo Costa and Inter Milan’s Andre Onana.
The 27-year-old enters the final year of his contract at the Brentford Community Stadium this June and he admitted on the Yours, Mine, Away podcast (via MEN) last month that he wants to test himself in Europe next season.
However, Tottenham are not the only club who are thought to be after Raya, with Manchester United and Chelsea also thought to be keeping an eye on him (Ben Jacobs – CaughtOffside on Substack).
The Sun have now revealed that the Bees fear the Spaniard will exit the club this summer and have thus slapped a £35m price tag on his head.
The publication adds that Thomas Frank’s men have already identified Liverpool’s number two Caoimhin Kelleher as Raya’s replacement and are currently leading the race for the Irish goalkeeper.
Spurs Web Opinion
Much like our other transfer targets, we risk being left behind in the race for Raya’s signature due to the fact that we do not have a manager or director of football in place.
The likes of Man Utd would be able to steal a march on us as it would be difficult to convince the Brentford star to come to N17 if he does not know which manager he would be playing under.
