The Daily Mail have revealed that Daniel Levy has now reclaimed the title of the highest-paid director in the Premier League.

The figures from the 2021-22 club accounts have now been released and Daniel Levy is said to have taken home £3.26m over the course of the campaign.

That is around £400,000 more than second-placed Paul Barber, the CEO at Brighton, who was paid £2.89m while former Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia was the third highest-paid director last season, commanding a package worth £2,244,000.

However, The Mail do point out that Manchester City have not published their figures, with the club’s CEO Ferran Soriano thought to earn £3.4m a year, which would make him the highest-paid director over his Spurs counterpart.

These published figures will certainly not sit well with large parts of the Spurs fan base, with Levy’s approval seemingly at an all-time low among the supporters on the back of the disastrous season the club have had and their drawn-out managerial search.

What is important to remember here is that Levy is also part owner of Spurs, unlike many of the other CEOs and directors on this list.

It is also worth pointing out that £3.26m is negligible in the grander scheme of things as it is lower than the average first-team player’s salary at Spurs, which stands at £4.4m.

For comparison, Harry Kane takes home a salary of £10.4m per year, which is more than three times what Levy makes.
