Sergio Regulion has insisted that he has not thought about what the future holds for him despite the fact that the summer transfer window is just around the corner.
Sergio Reguilon has suffered a series of injuries over the last 18 months which have set him back considerably.
The Spaniard has not been able to build any sort of momentum during his loan spell at Atletico Madrid and has not been favoured by Diego Simeone when fit.
The 26-year-old finally got his first start of the season for the Colchoneros in their 2-1 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday and it appears quite unlikely that he is going to remain in the Spanish capital beyond the end of the season.
In fact, Fichajes.net suggested a couple of days ago that the Tottenham man is the top left-back target for Real Sociedad ahead of the summer transfer window.
The publication claimed that the former Real Madrid man is not in the North London club’s plans and that the La Liga side could swoop for him ahead of their foray into the Champions League next season.
However, Reguilion himself has now remarked that he has not thought about what the future holds for him.
The Spaniard was speaking fondly of his loan spell in Seville back in 2019-20 and when quizzed on a potential return to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium in the future, he told AS: “Return to the club one day?
“Sevilla is a very special club for me, but the truth is that I’m not thinking about the future right now.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I do not think Reguilon has a future at Tottenham, irrespective of which head coach takes over in N17 this summer.
However, I doubt any club would be willing to pay a transfer fee for the left-back this summer, given his recent injury owes. So, Spurs will likely have to loan him out again.
