Ramon Vega has insisted that it is not a question of whether Ange Postecoglou is good enough for Tottenham but rather whether the Spurs job is big enough for the Celtic boss.
Postecoglou guided Celtic to a historic treble this season and has done so playing champagne football, which is perhaps why many Hoops fans are completely in love with the Australian, with many feeling that he is the best manager the club have had in their recent history.
However, amidst reports that the 57-year-old is now edging closer to becoming Tottenham‘s head coach (The Athletic), some Spurs fans have expressed concerns about his lack of experience in a top league.
They have pointed to the fact that Postecoglou has only coached in Australia, Japan and Scotland as evidence that he is not of the standard that the Lilywhites require.
Vega has now taken to social media to refute that claim, insisting that Tottenham would be lucky to get the Celtic boss.
Spurs Fans questioning if Ange Postecoglu is good enough for Spurs. Well, I tell you one thing the question is more about if Spurs is good enough for Ange Postecoglu at the moment. Congratulations to Ange Postocoglou for the amazing achievement to win the treble with @CelticFC… https://t.co/u7efv2E39B

Great man, Great coach! It’s a shame if he leaves Celtic his done a brilliant… https://t.co/xvecsc4YVL

Spurs Web Opinion
As with every other debate on social media, the Postecoglou one has been dominated by extremes, with some viewing him as a potential messiah and others insisting that he is a Poundland manager. The truth, as with most issues, is somewhere down the middle.
The one thing I am happy about is the fact that we are appointing a manager who sees the club as the pinnacle of his career rather than a big name who feels he is doing Spurs a favour by being here. I am also excited that we will finally get to see some attacking football after a few years of complete dross.
However, there is no getting around the fact that this appointment would be a huge risk. It is all well and good playing possession-based Guardiola-like football in Japan and Scotland but doing that in the Premier League is a completely different ballgame, given the quality of teams and managers he will be up against.
Managers evidently need a lot of tactical nuance to succeed in the Premier League and it is unclear if Psotecoglou has that. For example, Marcelo Bielsa is another one who sticks to his principles and plays champagne football but he struggled to pick up results in England.
I have no doubt that Bielsa would dominate the Scottish League with Celtic, playing eye-catching football, but that does not mean he is good enough for Spurs.
