Football Insider have claimed that Clement Lenglet could be the first Tottenham player out of the door this summer, with the North London club said to have no plans of making the centre-back’s loan deal permanent.
It has been reported by quite a few Spanish outlets over recent weeks that Tottenham are expected to sit down with Barcelona this summer to negotiate a permanent deal for Lenglet.
The latest such update came from Sport on Monday, with the report alleging that Tottenham had expressed an interest in signing the Frenchman, who the Catalan giants are open to selling him for around €10m-€15m (£8.6m-£13m).
However, this was subsequently contradicted by Matt Law, who said on the Last Word on Spurs’ YouTube channel on Wednesday that the Lilywhites are unlikely to sign the centre-back on a permanent basis.

Lenglet could be the first Spurs player out the door
Football Insider have now suggested that, as thing stand, Tottenham have no plans to make Lenglet’s loan deal permanent.
The publication suggests that the 27-year-old’s fate was sealed as soon as Antonio Conte left the club back in March and that the former Sevilla man is expected to be the first of many players to leave through the exit door following Postecoglou’s arrival.

While Spurs fans certainly will not be shocked by this news, this could mean that the club are planning to enter the market for two left-sided central defenders this summer.
None of our other centre-backs (with the exception of Eric Dier) are capable of playing on the left side of the central defence in a back four.
