Sam Allardyce has predicted that James Maddison could end up at Tottenham this summer, remarking that it is the type of deal Daniel Levy loves to do.
It was reported by The Telegraph on Thursday that Ange Postecoglou has identified Maddison as his ‘priority target’ this summer, just a couple of days after being confirmed as the Tottenham head coach.

After receiving the green light from the Australian, it was alleged that the Spurs hierarchy were expected to push ahead with an opening offer for the England international.
However, the report added that Leicester City are not prepared to let Maddison leave on the cheap and are set to demand over £50m for the player’s services even though he has just one year left on his contract.
The Telegraph also added that Tottenham are likely to be just one of many suitors lining up for the 26-year-old’s signature this summer.
Big Sam expects Spurs to win Maddison race
Allardyce expects Spurs to win the race for the Leicester City star’s services, insisting that the attacking midfielder will improve the Lilywhites.
When asked where Maddison would end up, the 68-year-old said on No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast: “Tottenham. It’s a lovely Daniel Levy deal that one, isn’t it?! He will be rubbing his hands. Keep him fit and he improves Tottenham.”

There is no doubt that Tottenham should be prioritising a move for Maddison, given that they need a number eight and the Leicester star is homegrown and proven in the Premier League.
However, there is no doubt that one or two Champions League clubs would be in for the 26-year-old this summer, which would make life really difficult for Spurs.
