The Telegraph have revealed that West Ham United are expected to spend their Declan Rice money on two rumoured Tottenham targets in James Ward-Prowse and Harvey Barnes.
Ward-Prowse continues to be linked with a move to Tottenham, with Football Insider reporting earlier this week that the Southampton midfielder has not yet made a final decision on his future amidst interest from the likes of Spurs.
Meanwhile, we also covered a report from The Times a couple of days ago, which claimed that Spurs are expected to push ahead with moves for several homegrown stars following Ange Postecoglou’s arrival, with Barnes being one of the names on the top of their wishlist.
West Ham are looking at Barnes and Ward-Prowse
However, if The Telegraph’s latest update is to be believed, Arsenal’s move for Rice could come as a massive blow to Tottenham’s pursuit of the Leicester and Southampton stars.
The report explains that Rice is now a ‘step closer’ to sealing a £92m move to the Emirates Stadium and that the Hammers are expected to use those funds to launch an assault on Ward-Prowse and Barnes.

Neither Ward-Prowse nor Barnes would be too expensive.
If Tottenham decide to pursue either player, we should have no issues getting the deals over the line as we are certainly a more attractive destination than the likes of Villa and West Ham, who are the others that have been credited with an interest in the pair.
