Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tim Steidten, who was of interest to Tottenham, is set to be appointed as West Ham United’s new technical director.
It has now been almost two months since Fabio Paratici resigned from his role as Tottenham’s managing director of football after his 30-month ban was upheld, but the Lilywhites appear no closer to appointing a successor.
In fact, based on the various reports emanating out of North London over the last two weeks, it appears as if the Lilywhites are pressing forward with their summer recruitment plans even though the vacancy has not been filled.
Steidten was said to be one of the names on Tottenham’s radar, with Alasdair Gold revealing via Football.London last month that the Spurs hierarchy were considering appointing the German.
The 44-year-old left his position as sports coordinator at Bayer Leverkusen back in March and had previously served as sporting director at Werder Bremen.
Romano has now taken to social media to confirm that Steidten is on the verge of moving to the London Stadium, with the journalist also confirming that Tottenham considered appointing him.

Spurs Web Opinion
I am quite puzzled by the fact that Tottenham appear to be in no hurry to bring in a new sporting director (or a head of recruitment if they want to modify the role following Scott Munn’s arrival).
That suggests that the club trust Postecoglou to work with the current recruitment team and make decisions on incomings and outgoings.
