It’s hard to imagine where Tottenham would be without Harry Kane sometimes, and last season he was clearly the driving force behind the team as he covered the most distance in the squad, and even ranked in the top ten across the whole Premier League.

Despite a dismal campaign all around for Tottenham, which saw the Lilywhites finish in eighth place in the league, it was a remarkable season for Kane personally.

The 29-year-old bagged 32 goals in all competitions, with 30 of those coming in the Premier League (Transfermarkt). Only Erling Haaland scored more than Kane this term.

Those goals helped Harry Kane break a number of records across the season, including becoming Tottenham Hotspur‘s all-time leading goalscorer (GOAL) and breaking Wayne Rooney’s international record to take the crown as England’s leading goalscorer.

No one can doubt just how important Kane is to the Spurs squad. But, not only does he provide the goals, but the talismanic striker is also the beating heart of the team when it comes to putting in the miles on the pitch.

Harry Kane leading from the front for Tottenham

In a new report from talkSPORT, the ranking of distance covered by Premier League players in the 2022/23 season has been revealed, and Kane has made the top ten.

Considering Kane is sometimes criticised for not leading the press from the front, it is surprising to see his name above some of his Spurs teammates, as well as the vast majority of the league.

It was Southampton skipper James Ward-Prowse who topped the charts, however, covering a distance of 433.4km. Pascal Gross of Brighton (418.9km) and West Ham star Declan Rice (412.9km) round out the top three.

Harry Kane came in eighth in the running charts, putting in a distance of 394.8km.

Spurs Web Opinion

Is there nothing Harry Kane can’t do? He quite literally ran himself into the ground last season trying to carry the Spurs squad as best he could, and he desperately needs more support next season otherwise we are going to struggle yet again.
