Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tottenham have managed to negotiate a discount on the fee owed to Juventus for Dejan Kulusevski. 

Spurs were set to pay £29.8m for the winger this summer, if they took up the option to do so, but have now haggled that down to £25.6m.

The contract will be valid until 2027 and he should be announced as a permanent Spurs player in the coming days, with Romano hinting at a ‘here we go’ soon.

The journalist previously claimed that Tottenham were confident of striking a deal with Juventus for the permanent transfer of Dejan Kulusevski.

It had been widely reported over the past few weeks that Spurs are not willing to meet the €35m (£30m) clause to buy Kulusevski and were instead looking to get a discount.

The latest such update came from Gazzetta Dello Sport on June 15, with the outlet suggesting that the Lilywhites had only offered €25m (£21.4m) for the player.

It was claimed that while Kulsuevski has many admirers at Tottenham, including chairman Daniel Levy, the North London club would need to ‘raise their offer’ if they were to snap up the 23-year-old permanently.

However, Romano has now given a positive update on the matter, taking to social media to state that the negotiations between the two clubs are almost there on a €30m deal.

Spurs Web Opinion

One can argue that even £30m would be a bargain for a player of Kulusevski’s quality in the current market.

However, it looks like Levy is using Juventus’ desperation to raise funds quickly to try and strike an even more lucrative deal, and he might well succeed.
