Journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur will soon hold talks with Harry Kane’s entourage about the striker’s future, with the club determined to keep their talisman.
With Kane now having just one year left on his contract with Spurs, there has understandably been plenty of speculation about the striker’s future over the last couple of months.
The likes of Manchester United (Daily Star), Real Madrid (Marca), Paris Saint-Germain (Foot Mercato), and Bayern Munich (The Athletic) have all been credited with an interest in the England captain.
However, the reports coming out of Tottenham over recent days seem to suggest that he might stay put, at least for the time being.
Journalist Ben Jacobs told The United Stand at the start of this week that Daniel Levy could force the striker to stay at the club for one more year in the hope that he might fall in love with Ange Postecoglou’s management.
Meanwhile, 90 min claimed on Wednesday that Tottenham have already informed Kane that he will not be sold this summer.
Tottenham expected to hold Kane talks very soon
Jones believes that the Lilywhites hierarchy will hang on to the centre forward and will soon present their new project to him.
He told GiveMeSport: “They (Spurs) will speak very soon to Harry Kane to present their project and to introduce new manager Ange Postecoglou.
“I’m sure that Tottenham will try their best to keep the player, at least, for one more season.”
Spurs Web Opinion
It is evident that Levy is prepared to take a gamble on Kane’s future, even though the chances of the striker changing his mind and signing a new deal appear slim.
For all the accusations levelled at the Spurs chairman for only caring about the bottom line, he has proven time and again that he is prepared to do all that is necessary to keep the best players at the club, even if it means risking losing out a significant transfer fee.
