Ange Postecoglou was promised Harry Kane would not be leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer when he spoke to Daniel Levy during his job interview at the club.
After more than two months of searching for a replacement for Antonio Conte, Tottenham finally landed on the treble-winning Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou to take over the North London club.

The Australian has a big job on his hands this summer as he looks to rebuild and repair a squad that limped to an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League last season.
While many players are expected to come and go at Spurs this summer, one name every Lilywhites fan hopes is going nowhere is Harry Kane.
The talismanic striker has just one year left on his current contract and has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham.
Kane is thought to be wanted by PSG (Foot Mercato), Chelsea (The Athletic), and Real Madrid (AS). Manchester United, meanwhile, are believed to have ended their pursuit of the England captain (The Guardian).
Levy promised Postecoglou that Kane would stay put
The situation this summer still remains unclear, but according to Graeme Bailey, who was speaking on the Chasing Green Arrows YouTube channel, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has already promised Postecoglou his star man is going nowhere this year.
Bailey said: “Yeah, from what we’re hearing, Ange Postecoglou was told Harry Kane is not leaving as a part of the interview process.
“We know that Daniel Levy is basically ignoring calls, he’s done it before and he will do it in this window.”

We all know how difficult Daniel Levy can make it for other clubs when he wants to dig his heels, and it sounds like he is going to do just that with Kane again this year. Turns out Levy is good for some things, after all.
