Tottenham Hotspur are set to part company with Performance Director Grètar Steinsson as part of an internal restructuring process, according to Football.London.
The 41-year-old only took up the role in north London in July of last year having been hired by Tottenham’s former Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici to essentially work under the Italian as his number two.
Paratici departed Tottenham in April after he decided to resign from his post after losing an appeal in Italy against his 30-month ban from the game for his role in alleged false accounting at his previous club, Juventus.
Steinsson to leave Spurs as part of restructuring under Munn
With Scott Munn set to take up the new position of chief football officer from July 1st which will see him responsible for all footballing-related matters at the Premier League side, the structure is changing from the one which Paratici created and as a result, Steinsson is on his way out of the door.
Steinsson, a former Bolton Wanderers and Iceland right-back is known for his honesty and was not prepared to take any prisoners with his direct approach when dealing with agents during his time at Everton (The Athletic).
Steinsson joined Spurs from the Icelandic FA where he has been working as Technical Advisor and has also previously worked at Fleetwood Town where he served as Technical Director.
