Journalist Peter O’Rourke has revealed in his column for Football Insider that Tottenham Hotspur are prioritising strengthening in goal, upfront, at centre-back and in the middle of the park this summer.
Tottenham appear to be on the verge of completing their first signing of the summer (apart from Dejan Kulusevski), with reports indicating that Guglielmo Vicario is set to fly to London to complete a deal worth €19m (£16.3m) plus add-ons (Fabrizio Romano).

Tottenham looking to strengthen four key positions
O’Rourke has now revealed that apart from finding a successor to Hugo Lloris, Ange Postecoglou also wants to add firepower upfront following the departures of Lucas Moura and Arnaut Danjuma.
The journalist explained that the Australian wants a wide-forward rather than a number nine, with Harry Kane and Richarlison having the centre-forward role covered.
O’Rourke claims that the new Spurs boss has identified the left-sided centre-back role as a ‘top priority’ while he is also looking to bolster the midfield engine room.

It appears as if a goalkeeper, a number eight and a centre-back are Tottenham’s immediate priorities.
If the club can get deals for Vicario, Tapsoba and Maddison over the line before the start of pre-season that would leave them with sufficient time to sign a central midfielder and a wide-forward.
Another central defender might also be on the agenda depending on whether Dier follows Tanganga, Sanchez and Rodon through the door and whether Spurs pursue a permanent deal for Lenglet.
