James Maddison has said that he can sense the hunger at Tottenham and admitted that he cannot wait to get started at the club.
Tottenham agreed a deal worth £40m with Leicester for Maddison, who put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the North London club yesterday.
The 26-year-old’s arrival has understandably been met with plenty of excitement from the Spurs fan base as the attacking midfielder will add the sort of creativity and flair that has been seemingly missing in the Lilywhites midfield since Chrisitan Eriksen’s departure in 2020.
The England international has been one of the most consistent playmakers in the Premier League over the last few years and even managed an impressive 19 goal contributions in 30 appearances last season for a relegated Leicester side.
Maddison is seen by many as a good fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system, with the Australian’s teams relying on their number eight to make regular runs into the box and make an impact in the final third.
Maddison is excited to get started at Spurs
On signing for Spurs, the attacking midfielder told the club: “I feel a hunger about the place and I’m ready to get going.”

Spurs Web Opinion
The fact that we have managed to get this deal over the line despite not being in Europe shows the kind of pulling power that Tottenham now have.
While critics will point to the lack of silverware over the last 15 years, the reality is that Spurs as a club are in a different stratosphere than they were when they won the League Cup back in 2008 and are a much more attractive destination for top players.
