Estadio Deportivo have revealed that Osasuna are hoping Tottenham Hotspur terminate Sergio Reguilon’s contract so they can snap up the left-back this summer.

Reguilon is set to return to Tottenham for pre-season on the back of a disappointing loan spell at Atletico Madrid and multiple outlets have indicated over recent weeks that he is one of several first-team players who are expected to be offloaded by the North London club (The Athletic).

Estadio Deportivo have now claimed Osasuna are looking for reinforcements at left-back and have identified the Tottenham man as a target.

It is explained that despite Reguilon’s struggles at Atletico, the La Liga side believe they can help the 26-year-old ‘recover his level’ and produce the type of performances he previously did at Sevilla and Real Madrid.

However, it is said that agreeing on a fee with Spurs for the Spaniard ‘will be difficult’ for Osasuna, which is why Jagoba Arrasate’s men are hoping that the player reaches an agreement with Spurs to terminate his contract.

Estadio Deportivo describe the operation as a ‘complicated’ one, which is why the Spanish club are also said to be looking at alternative options for the left-back role.

There is no reason for Tottenham to terminate Reguilon’s contract and lose out on a transfer fee.

While interested clubs might be hesitant to pay a fee for the Spaniard this summer, owing to his recent injury woes, Spurs might decide to loan him again this summer in the hope that there will be suitors for the 26-year-old in January or next summer.
