RMC Sport journalist Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that Edmond Tapsoba’s representatives flew to London over the weekend to meet with officials from Tottenham Hotspur to discuss personal terms ahead of a potential transfer.
Tavolieri asserts that the parties discussed Taposoba’s salary ahead of a possible transfer, with the talks said to have been ‘constructive’.
The journalist added that negotiations over the centre-back’s move to Spurs are now ‘progressing significantly’.

While he explained that there are still some details to be ironed out before the deal can go ahead, he stated there is intent from all parties to find a resolution.
Tottenham to enter Edmond Tapsoba talks soon
Having made progress on the personal terms, Tavolieri alleges that Tottenham will ‘soon’ start talks with Bayer Leverkusen regarding a deal for Taposba.
He claims that the Lilywhites’ first offer for the Burkina Faso international is expected to be around €30m (£25.6m) while the Bundesliga club value the 24-year-old at around €50m (£42.8m).
This update comes a couple of days after Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside that Tapsoba remains Tottenham’s top target for the left-sided centre-back role ahead of Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven.

From Tavolieri’s update, it appears as if Spurs and Leverkusen are still a long way away apart in their respective valuations of Tapsoba.
Agreeing on personal terms with the player was never going to be a problem.
The tricky part was always going to be the transfer fee, especially since the German club might want to get a bidding war going for the 24-year-old.
