Tottenham Hotspur have received a verbal offer from Fenerbahce Fenerbahce for Davinson Sanchez, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Colombian centre-back has made over 200 appearances for Spurs since joining the club in 2017 in a £42m deal from Ajax but has struggled to make a consistent impression during his time in North London (Guardian).

Sanchez has slid down the pecking order under the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte with Eric Dier and Cristian Romero among those who are entrusted to marshal the backline ahead of the 27-year-old.

Fenerbahce offer £7.8m for Davinson Sanchez

Romano has taken to Twitter to reveal that the Turkish giants have made a proposal worth €9m (£7.6m) to end Sanchez’s career in top-flight English football after six years.

Tottenham are prepared to sanction the exit of Sanchez, but the decision is not with the player who is also attracting interest from a handful of other clubs.

He wrote on Twitter: “Galatasaray have sent verbal proposal to Tottenham for Davinson Sánchez — confirmed.

“Understand proposal is around €9m fee but Sánchez also has 2/3 more clubs now keen on signing him. Spurs are prepared to let him leave, up to the player.”

The defender has also been linked with a move to Spartak Moscow after his agent revealed earlier this month that the Russian side have tabled an offer for the former club record signing,

“Yes, Spartak made an offer to Tottenham for Sanchez,” Fernando Villarreal told the Sport Express.

“Sanchez is not afraid to come to Russia, but it is too early to talk about it. Now, there are no specifics,” he added.

“Spartak did not come to us. The clubs communicate with each other.”

Sanchez was booed by Tottenham supporters when he came on as a first-half substitute against Bournemouth in April – and received the same reaction when he was taken off after the break.

It is time for Davinson Sanchez to move on and get his career back on track after becoming a bit-part player at Tottenham.  The defender struggles massively when he does not play consistently and errors creep into his game which prove to be costly.
