Gary Lineker has joked that Alan Shearer may want to dig deep to help Bayern Munich stump up a transfer fee that would persuade Tottenham Hotspur to sell Harry Kane.
It has been widely reported over the early part of this week that Bayern had submitted an offer of €80m (£68.4m) plus add-ons for Kane after their opening offer of €70m (£60m) had been turned down by Tottenham (Florian Plettenberg).
However, multiple sources, including Fabrizio Romano (CaughtOffside) and 90 min have suggested that Spurs are likely to turn down the latest offer as well, with the latter claiming that the North London club remain adamant that they would not even enter into negotiations with the German club over a deal for their star man.
Gary Lineker teases Alan Shearer over Harry Kane transfer rumour
One man who may secretly be hoping that Kane seals a switch to the Allianz Arena is Shearer, with the Tottenham star just 47 goals behind the Newcastle legend’s all-time Premier League goal record.
Lineker has joked that the Match of the Day pundit could chip in to help Thomas Tuchel’s men take the striker to the Bundesliga and keep his record safe for the time being.

Spurs Web Opinion
Harry Kane will undoubtedly be confident that he can break Alan Shearer‘s record if he returns to the Premier League following two or three seasons with Bayern Munich.
The 29-year-old will undoubtedly still be playing at the highest level until at least his mid-thirties, given how well he takes care of himself and the fact that he is not overly reliant on his pace or athleticism.
