Richarlison has given a very honest assessment of Tottenham’s current squad, stating that the team need to show more ambition to reach Harry Kane’s levels.
The Brazilian, who had a poor campaign in front of goal following his big-money move from Everton last summer, was discussing the form of Harry Kane on a recent podcast.

Richarlison said he could not believe how many goals Kane racked up last season when Tottenham finished eighth in the Premier League – adding that a squad with that kind of striker should be challenging for the title.
In all competitions last season, Kane managed 32 goals across 49 games, with 30 of those coming in the Premier League (BBC).
Heung-min Son was second on the list with 14 goals, but the numbers then drop all the way down to Rodrigo Bentancur on six, despite the midfielder spending half the season out injured.
Richarlison himself only managed three goals in 35 matches across all competitions, with only one coming in the Premier League.
Richarlison says Spurs squad need more ambition
Speaking on the YouTube podcast Que Papinho, Richarlison said: “A guy who scored 30 goals and we managed to stay at 8. Something you can’t believe.
“With a guy like that on the team, it was supposed to fight at the top of the table, fighting for the title.
“We players lack ambition. We have to change that as soon as possible.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
Although he can come across as arrogant when things are going well, Richarlison also seems to take accountability when his performances are not up to scratch.
Fans are not silly, they know that Spurs are so far off where they need to be. But hearing a player admit it is always refreshing.
