Former Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has given his word to the Bundesliga club that he wants to join them.
Kane has been heavily linked with a move away from the Premier League side this summer with the striker having just a year to run on his existing contract.
Hoeness claims Kane has given his word to join Bayern
Bayern have reportedly had two bids rejected for the 29-year-old, but manager Thomas Tuchel remains keen to bring Kane to the German champions.
Tottenham have tabled a lucrative contract extension in an attempt to keep Kane at the club beyond his current deal, which he is in no rush to sign at the moment.
He told Kerry Hau of Sport1: “Harry Kane has very clearly signaled that his decision was made.
“If he keeps his word, we will sign him. Tottenham will have to give up, we’ve to get an asking price from Levy.
“Rummenigge speaks to him regularly.”
Hoeness added to fellow German journalist Maximilian Koch that Kane has revealed that he wants to play in European competition next session, something Tottenham cannot offer following their disappointing eighth place finish in the Premier League saw them finish outside of the qualifying places.
He continued: “Harry Kane now wants to play in European competitions. Tottenham won’t be there next season, we will be there.
“He has another chance to join a top European club”
Kane’s brother and agent Charlie and the striker’s father have also made a good impression on the Bayern delegation: “What we really liked about Harry Kane is his agents, his father, brother… they’re very pleasant people”
